I love winning things.

About a week and a half ago I won a 20 certificate to southern fabrics .  I finally picked 2 charm packs, checked out and they shipped so fast!  Their website was easy to use and they have a lot of fun fabrics. I'd recommend them and buy from them again. :) As a bonus, they are having a huge fathers day sale off precuts and yardage, until the 16th.  So if you're in the market for fabric (who isn't), you should check them out while the sale is still going! :D

This is my purchase.  I love black and red together, not sure what to make, but it's a start of an idea ;)

January Lovely Year of Finishes Goal Finished!!!

I am dancing over here! My goal for the month of January, for the red and white quilt, was to have it quilted.  Not only is it quilted, but it's bound up and all boxed up winging it's way to my sister!  Woohoo! How exciting!  It was one of my very first quilts, and while I am annoyed at myself for it taking THIS long to finish it, I am so happy with myself that I stuck to it and finished it.

I learned I have a very different taste in fabric choices and patterns now.  It's been an interesting quilt to work on for me.

Enough boring talk - here are the pictures.
I can't get this one rotated right.  Sorry!

Red flannel backing.

All folded nice and pretty <3

Sorry they are all inside.  It's a snowy snowy snow day today!!!

Marmalade Mini

I'm in love with the line Marmalade.  Have I mentioned that before? I have charm packs, mini charm packs, and have yardage in my shopping cart on and off but haven't decided WHAT to purchase the fabric for...so for now it is just for me to drool over online.  At least I have the charm packs to drool over in person!

About a month ago my LQS had a marmalade mini charm pack kit - pattern and fabric to make a mini quilt. I just knew I had to have it, so I bought it.  And drooled over it, and was afraid to sew it up, excuses excuses.  The other night I decided to put on my big girl panties and make it!  Here is the process in pictures.
Basted and ready to quilt.  I can't believe I didn't take pictures of my progress.  Hmmm...I must have been too excited!!!

Quilted, binding waiting to be hand sewn.

Finished!

Back to show quilting better.

And one last finished picture, just for good measure.  I really love this little beauty - measures up at about 13 inches square.  It sits in my sewing room so I can drool over it while I sew and craft.  <3  Do you have a fabric line you just love and hoard and drool over?  I have a couple...but this is my latest obsession

2013 Finish Along Quarter 1

I'm determined to get more projects FINISHED this year than I did last year.  I want to work through some UFO's baby!  So, in order to hopefully help stay accountable, I am joining another group.  The finish along with she can quilt.
she can quilt
Here is my list so far:

The red and white quilt of doom! This I hope to quilt this month!!

This mini quilt is now just sitting.  Poor gorgeous thing

This mini is sitting basted! How sad am i?!?

This beauty for my niece is still sitting :(  She has a birthday in February.  Maybe I can finish by then???

I think I only have 2 blocks left to make this a quilt top!!

I need to figure out borders for this

Supernova.  In a bucket.  Wow.

Think this quilt might be turned into a bed runner instead.  Well, probably 3 bed runners ;)  One at a time though!!

8 projects. Wow.  And this doesn't even cut into my stuff.  PROJECT SHAME!! Lol.

The worst part is - I have projects set aside NOT cut into that aren't technically UFO's that I should work on also.  Maybe I should be on a fabric diet - no new projects until I finish what I've started :D

Lovely Year of Finishes - January Post

I am being very unlofty and only posting a small accomplishment I'm hoping to achieve in January.  This top and backing is waiting to be basted and quilted.

That's my goal for January.  Not to have it bound and finished, just to have it quilted.  Hopefully this helps keep me accountable and I get stuff done this year!

MMMRR Reveal Day!

Modern Mini Mystery Round Robin Quilt Reveal Day!!!  WOOHOO!!

I am so excited! I will put a better picture up later, but I forgot to get a good one while the sun was shining!  Oopsie.  I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE all the work everyone put into my quilt.
I started with a small 6.5 inch square, you can see it off center, the pink, white and grey block.  Everyone who got it for a turn then made a border, intricate or simple, and passed it onto the next person.  I had so much fun doing this, I'd love to do it again.

Now the hard part - what do I do with it? Do I leave it a mini and hang it up and enjoy it, or make it a quilt and snuggle and enjoy it?  Any opinions?

Thanks for stopping by!
